Workshop Description:

The body is sacred. We hold our stories within us. We are animated dirt, and our bodies release a sound. As we move, we connect with ourselves, with God, and with each other.

Movement as Prayer is a faith-based, trauma informed movement practice based in structured improvisation. This workshop will create a container for us to dance prayers, explore dance as a vehicle for healing, and make new discoveries. Come and experience new ways to move, to connect, and to express. Let there be what you need in this space. Dance can be a vehicle for healing, for restoration, for reflection, for grounding, for questions, and for connection. This unique workshop is open to all movers (not just for dancers!). 

Come ready to explore sacred space to connect with yourself and with God, and leave with tools you can use at home. Come with your questions and vulnerability. We will explore different types of prayer + embodiment of those prayers. Receiving, Listening, Intercession, Blessing, Declaration, and Reclamation.
